A Beach-Kit Capybara Plush With a Removable Duck Buoy

The yellow ring is the point of this one. It sits around the body under the chin, with a duckling face on the front and two orange webbed feet dangling below, and the product graphic states in so many words that the buoy can be removed. That duckling face is more than an applique: a gold zip runs along the top edge of its head, its pull tab sitting against one brown paw. A second duckling perches on the crown. Underneath is a broad brown capybara with a big chocolate muzzle, front paws resting on the ring. At 16 to 24 in it fills a lap; the smaller 9 to 13 in capybara that wears only a duckling and no ring is a different page.

The Butter Yellow Buoy and the Bill Above It

Both yellows on this plush are soft rather than bright. The ring is a pale butter tone with a matte finish, and the duckling on the crown matches it closely, its bill a small muted orange wedge. Against them the body is a warm mid brown that deepens on the muzzle first of all, then on the ears, the paw pads and the tips of the back feet. The muzzle is a wide chocolate mask, the darkest area on the whole plush, holding stitched nostrils and one long line down to the mouth, with a narrow closed stitch for each eye.

Sixteen Inches or Twenty Four: What Changes

Two figures appear on the Height menu, 16 in (40 cm) and 24 in (60 cm). Only one sample is photographed here and there is no comparison frame, so the difference between them exists on paper rather than in the gallery, and nothing in the photographs tells you which figure was in front of the camera. Whichever you pick, it sits steady on its own wide hips: the bedroom frame shows it upright with nothing propping it. Twenty four inches is half again as tall as sixteen and wants a corner of a couch or a stack of pillows. Heights are the published figures for this model and are given as a guide.
